In the Professional Original Artist Doll Division, Shirley was award a Second Place Ribbon, and went all the way to capture the Best Of Show Professional Doll.

Her entry this year was Durk Thinggwall - "Gobbin" and he was the one of the favorite "show- cased" dolls in the competition table by all of the visitors.

Shirley is from Australia and has been selling dolls for the past seventeen years, but has been making dolls since she was seven. She remembers her first dolls were made from pipe-cleaners and felt assisted by her mother.

In 1978 while still at college, she started making fantasy dolls - goblins, elves, picksies and fairies and sold them through a number of shops and at local cummunity markets under the name of "Elfworks" - the name she still goes under today. These dolls were made from clay, wire and leather. Today Shirely creates with a variety of mediums, but polymer clay and resin are her favorite mediums.
